Some clarifications...

This morning on the forum where I post about Capucine and try to recruit new host families for her  I was rather gutted and yes, let s use the word HURT to see this

I m withdrawing my offer to Host.

I asked for clarification as to what is happening with Capucine after she finishes her travels.

Basically, every other Travelling Blythe I've hosted is auctioned for charity, donated to a Blythe Event or raffled so that one of the Hosts gets a chance to win her forever.

This isn't happened with Capucine (or at least wasn't explained that way to me at all) and she is a Blythe travelling the world then going back home to her original owner.

There is nothing wrong with this, but it's a not a format I'm comfortable with.

Happy travels to Capucine though!

Because I would like to defuse any doubt about what could have been said between me and this person I have decided to play the card of transparency and copy and paste here the few messages exchaged between us. She saw my offer to host capucine and that is what we Pm after that.
I am doing this so everybody can see that I never tried to get Capucine somewhere under false pretences of a chance of having her won or auctioned at the end of her travels...

Hi Dominique!

I'm looking forward to being a Host for this pretty girl.

What's happening to her after her travels? I only ask as every other travelling Blythe I've participated with has a Final Destination, as it were.

For some, it's a Blythe Convention, for others one of the Hosts gets to chance to win her to keep at the end of the travels, for others they continually travel, and for others still, they are auctioned for a particular charity.

When she comes to Melbourne, I'll make sure to take her out sight-seeing to lots of pretty, unique places in the state, as I travel a bit too, so I can take lots and lots of photos Smile

When do you think she might kick off her travels?

I think I will try to get her back here for Blythecon Europe where I am hoping to go in Amsterdan on the 12th of july amd then she can resume her travels, I am so excited about this. I have travelled a bit before I had the kids but I never made it to Australia , a country I would have loved to go to.... so my little girl will go instead of me,I can t wait to see pictures!

The only doll I have ever hosted does belong do somebody and as far as I know is still traveling,
here are the pictures I took of her

I do not belong to the wealthy type of blythe owners and I have had to save up for every one of my dolls and for me sending one of my girls around the world is a bit like sending her to place I will never have the chance to see.  To get her pictures taken in fabulous places, with new friends she will make in her travels...
I am not intending to take advantage of anyone and if some of you feel like it I am sorry, maybe I should have make sure to state fro the beginning that I was not going to part with Capucine at the end of her trip I intend  to send some presents from capucine and me to each hosting family to show how greatful I am for them to host her . As one of the host mother to be wrote, she is an exchange student!

What does hosting Capucine involve

  First and foremost
Make her one of your girls for the time she is spending in your family. Do not hesitate to take her everywhere you go and take loads of pictures to post here on her very own blog for everyone to seeAlso it would be great if you would  help Capucine picking up and writing a postcard to her family back home,

Will I be able to add something to the Traveler’s case?
I am trying to find a way to lessen the weight of Capucine's travelling parcel, so I have decided that instead of sending presents to her host families via her parcel, I shall send each host an envelope with a wee present from her that they will receive before her arrival and open once she is with them,
The hosts should put in the parcel  a gift that will stay with the Traveler until she gets home
She will be traveling with one outfit which will remain hers and will be put on her every time she travels on .
Also there will be a number of outfits that you will be welcomed to swap with her but it would be nice that what you give remains with her so there will be different bags

Communication
Communicating is of extreme importance so when Capucine will be with you you will have to publish a little diary of her stay with pictures, (I will give you the pass word to this blog)

 Customizing
Capucine would be delighted to receive some spa treatment during her travels, She so far only have one special set of eye chips so if as a present to her you would like to give her a special treatment you are very welcome

Some questions answered

Here are some answers to questions you might be asking yourself

How long does a Traveler stay with their host family?

Having hosted a girl myself, I realize that it is difficult to put a time limit on the stay especially if you are planing a trip somewhere and it would be a great opportunity for Capucine to take that holiday with you. So I think that we can say a minimum of two weeks and some extra time if you need it. We all we be in touch anyway and will see how it goes....

                   How will Capucine travel?
She will be wrapped in a  traveling bag and inside a box which each person will wrap to send ahead to the next host. I think we should try to keep her traveling as light as possible but of course she will have with her a few outfits and small presents for her hosts, although maybe I will send her presents separately so she does not carry them around

Who is to pay the postage
Each participant will have to pay for shipping the girl (inc. tracking and insurance)  forward to her next host  For  international shipments which will be dearer or if you think that it is too expensive for you I will help as much as I can (I know that the posting is the biggest problem)We shall try to keep the trips as short as possible as it would be a pity if she spends months in the post. We will need a tracking number in any case to see where she is at all time.

Meet Capucine

Capucine
is my lovely raven hair girl who was born once upon the time in  China in a factory

Capucine loves nothing better than to meet new people and discover new places.

She loves  Art, the countryside, visiting places of interest,
Since we have been touring the south of Ireland in the hippy van she has nagged me to let her go travelling...

She is a girly girl who love clothes but is not too high maintenance and does not mind wearing shorts when it is too hot!
